Sculptures

"Radiating Feminine"

About 8 feet tall
5-6 feet in diameter

Picture
A found object sculpture comprised of a tuba bell attached to a lazy susan on top of a circular clothes rack with ribbons cascading down to a central female figure. She is bare chested and seated on a winter white prom dress that radiates in all directions as she  holds an open vessel in her arms.
This was one of the pieces Chosen by Judy Chicago for the Durham Art Guild Sculpture show.

"Echo and Narcissus"

About 9 feet tall
6-7 feet in diameter

Picture

The sculpture is an interactive mobile assemblage.  The central portion of the sculpture includes a painting of the two lovers on one side of a panel, with a mirror on the reverse side.

Created in collaboration with husband David Hardt, "Echo and Narcissus" retells the myth of the Nymph Echo, and the self-absorbed Narcissus allowing for a happier ending.  In the painting they are able to reach out and touch each other.
